This week is Holy Week in the Catholic Church! Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday where we celebrate the triumphant entry of Jesus in Jerusalem. Holy Thursday is when we commemorate the Last Supper. The Last Supper is celebrated at every Mass, but especially on Holy Thursday. It was the evening of Holy Thursday when Jesus prayed at the Mount of Olives inspiring Eucharistic adoration and then was arrested. On Good Friday we commemorate the trial, punishment and crucifixion of Our Lord. On Holy Saturday we remember that Jesus descended into hell where he preached the Gospel to all who died before and opened the way to heaven for all who are worthy. Easter Sunday, which is the start of the Easter season in the Church, we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.
